In keeping with our commitment to provide students with outstanding careers guidance and tailored support when choosing their next step after school, Tudor Grange Academy will be using Unifrog; an award-winning, online careers platform. All students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 have access to this excellent website. Students will be accessing Unifrog via their timetabled RSHE lessons, but we also encourage they independently use it to record all their competencies and achievements throughout their time at Tudor Grange Academy.

Unifrog brings into one place every college course, apprenticeship, undergraduate university course in the UK as well as other opportunities, such as School Leaver Programmes, MOOCs and every college at Oxford and Cambridge. This makes it easy for students to compare and choose the best courses, apprenticeships or further education courses for them.

Additionally, the platform helps students successfully apply for these opportunities by writing their CVs, applications and personal statements and guiding them through the process, allowing teachers to give live feedback. Students can also explore over 900 different careers and how to get into them within the research library. Unifrog can help improve your child’s attainment as they can see early on what grades they require for certain courses and more importantly allows them to make smarter informed choices about their futures.

Unifrog in Years 7, 8 and 9

Using Unifrog with KS3 is a great way to help students comprehend how their choices now will affect their career options in the future.

It can never be too soon for students to know what is expected of them if they want to follow a certain career path.
It helps them understand how their GCSE choices can affect their future.
It helps make careers seem more achievable and less abstract.
Our tools are accessible for students in KS3 and by building familiarity with the tool early on, students will be confident using it “for real” when they are thinking about their choices either in year 11 or sixth form.

Unifrog in Years 10 and 11

It’s best practice to use Unifrog with KS4 because it builds students’ confidence with the tool and keeps them focused on their education.

Showing students what GCSE grades they need to achieve to reach their chosen post-school destination motivates them to work hard.
The University, Apprenticeship, and College and Sixth Form tools have been optimised for use lower down the school. For instance, when KS4 students use the University tool they are asked to enter their expected GCSE grades, and the tool then forecasts what this will result in in terms of UCAS points.
Using Unifrog in KS4 helps to embed use of the tool, so that it is used more effectively in KS5.

If you have not logged on yet you can access the tool for the first time using a sign-up code which is unique to you. If you have not received this or need some help, please speak to your RSHE teacher will give you or speak to Ms Lowry who can assist you further. Once you have your log on details you will then be able to access Unifrog from any computer, tablet or smartphone.
