We at Tudor Grange Academy Solihull are committed to supporting you and ensuring that you have the best possible educational experience, despite the challenges that you may face as a young carer. We recognise the significant responsibility that you take on as a young carer and the impact that it can have on your daily life.
Our commitment to you is as follows:
- Supportive Environment: We aim to create a safe and supportive environment for all our students, including young carers. We are committed to treating every student with respect, regardless of their circumstances.
- Flexible Approach: We understand that your caring responsibilities may impact your attendance, punctuality, and ability to complete homework. Our teachers will work with you to identify any challenges you may face and to develop a flexible approach that allows you to manage your responsibilities while still achieving your educational goals.
- Access to Resources: We will provide you with access to resources and support that can help you manage your caring responsibilities and any associated stress or anxiety. We have a designated Young Carers’ School Lead who can provide you with guidance and practical assistance when needed.
- Privacy: We will respect your privacy and confidentiality. We understand that caring for a family member can be a sensitive topic, and we will ensure that your personal information is only shared with professionals on a need-to-know basis.
- Awareness: We will promote awareness and understanding of young carers within our school community. We will work to educate our teachers, staff, and students about the challenges that young carers face and the importance of supporting them in their role.
- Positive Recognition: We will recognise and celebrate your achievements and contribution to our school community. We acknowledge the significant role you play in your family and your community and are committed to supporting you in your educational journey.
