Please find below a timeline of events that have been put in place to support
you and your child in the curriculum choices decision making process.
Further support is available through your child’s tutor.
| Spring 1 | All RSHE sessions this half term are dedicated to the options process and careers. Students will be provided with Unifrog logins. Students will be given taster lessons in all the options they can study at KS4. |

| 3rd February | Year 9 Options Evening for students and parents |

Curriculum Choices Timeline 2026
Students will be given Unifrog logins which they can use for careers guidance.
Taster lessons will be delivered in normal lesson time. However, for timetabling purposes, other subject areas will provide taster lessons for certain subjects. The relevant subject experts have prepared these taster lessons to enable nonspecialists to deliver these.
During the Options Convention, your child can speak to current KS4 students from option subjects.
Year 9 Curriculum Choices Evening is an evening for students and parents to attend. During this evening, there will be a presentation about the options process. There will also be an opportunity to attend talks on subject areas you are interested in and ask questions.
The Alumni session gives students the opportunity to hear from ex-students regarding their experience of GCSE studies and their current studies / careers.
