Learning Mentor

For September 2020 we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly committed individual for the post of Learning Mentor.

Core Purpose

  • Learning mentors provide a complementary service to teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of pupils who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Learning mentors work with pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, and within lessons, acting as a listener, facilitator for learning, encourager, supporter and guide.

Working hours: Full Time – Term time only (Part time hours would be considered)
Hours: 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 3.30pm on Friday (37 hours)
Salary Range NJC Scale 3, point range point range 5-6 FTE Salary £18,795 to £19171

Teacher of IT and Computer Science
(Maternity leave – part-time)

An enthusiastic, dynamic and creative teacher of IT and Computer Science is required for September 2020 to join an ambitious and progressive department. Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and NQTs, with an ability to deliver Computer Science at key stages 3 and 4.

Additionally, you will benefit from:

  • Working in a subject area with a track record of exceptional outcomes (64.5% of students achieved a grade 7 or above in the GCSE Computer Science 9-1 qualification in 2019, whilst 100% of students achieved grades A*-B in A level Computer Science).
  • Teaching in a forward thinking department with excellent resources and facilities for teachers who love their subject.
  • The opportunity to develop and deliver examination courses up to and including A level.

The Academy

Tudor Grange Academy is an outstanding 11 – 18 comprehensive school situated in South Solihull with a roll of 1541. The school was inspected by Ofsted in June 2014 who judged it to be outstanding overall and for each of the four main areas the school was categorised as outstanding. Local Area

Solihull is the home of designer-brand shopping, idyllic rural villages, fine dining, fabulous hotels and home to the National Exhibition Centre and Genting Arena, which hosts an array of spectacular live events.  Still quaint, the town is dotted with historic architecture including timber-framed Tudor houses and shops and nearly three-quarters of the borough is defined as Green Belt. In addition to this, Solihull is surrounded by picturesque countryside.   Birmingham Airport is just 10 minutes away and Birmingham International station and Solihull station both provide excellent transport links across the country.
