KS1-KS3 Teacher

I would like to draw your attention to the following opportunity:

The Trust is continuing to evolve and grow and we wish to make this appointment to build capacity for further expansion of our SEND provision and to support the increasing needs of SEND students in Solihull.

We seek an experienced, outstanding teacher with a track record of working with vulnerable children, particularly those with social, emotional and mental health needs. The successful candidate will be able to teach a variety of subjects from KS1 to KS3 and could be based in any of the Solihull based Academies within Tudor Grange Academies Trust –

Tudor Grange Academy Solihull/Tudor Grange Primary Academy St James/Tudor Grange Primary Academy Yew Tree/Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders and SENDCOs to plan for, and provide, high quality provision for identified students with SEND (particularly students with SEMH needs).

Specifically they will:

  • Work with others to plan an appropriate and cohesive curriculum for these students
  • Use appropriate, research based, strategies and pedagogical approaches (and share these with others) to engage students in learning
  • Work closely with external agencies, key stakeholders (including parents) and other professionals
  • Work with these students to overcome barriers to their learning

Teacher of Art

A well-qualified and inspirational teacher of Art is required to join a talented and supportive department with an excellent reputation, from January 2020. Applications from all Art specialists are welcome and the additional experience of Photography would be an advantage. The successful candidate must be able to teach across the full range of Key Stages, from Key Stage 3, including GCSE and A level. They should be creative, hardworking, well-organised and able to work as part of a team. Additionally, they will have the drive and passion to contribute to the wider curricular activities, exhibitions, trips and visits that are offered by the department annually.

The department has excellent facilities and we are incredibly proud of the broad, balanced curriculum that is provided for our students. We have large numbers of students who choose to take Art or Photography at GCSE and the successful candidate should demonstrate an excellent track record of teaching and student progress within a secondary school.

Teacher of Science

An outstanding teacher of Science is required for January 2020 to join a committed and hard-working department. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and NQTs and from any science specialism, although applications from chemistry specialists are particularly welcomed.
The successful candidate will benefit from:

  • Joining a department judged as outstanding in the school’s most recent OFSTED inspection (June 2014)
  • Joining a department with a tradition of excellent results
  • At GCSE Level in 2019 – in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics over 93% of students achieved a Level 4+ and over 48% achieved a Level 7+
  • At A Level in 2019 – in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics over 86% of students achieved a grade A* – E

Teacher of Mathematics

For January 2020 we require a talented, enthusiastic and outstanding teacher of mathematics. The maths department is very much a team; they are dynamic, forward looking and ambitious, setting themselves high targets for development and achievement for the forthcoming years, within a very supportive and reflective atmosphere. Our GCSE results have been consistently outstanding for many years and we have continued this success with the A-Level results of our sixth form. The department is committed to improving learning through research including metacognition, mastery and mixed attainment teaching. We have recently been recognised for our work in these areas by the DfE and have been designated as a maths hub. Consequently, we are looking to expand our capacity as a high performing maths department. Additionally, you will benefit from:

Teacher of Girls PE

A well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of girls PE is required to join a talented department with a strong sporting tradition, to start January 2020. Applications from all sporting specialists are welcome.
The successful candidate must be able to teach across the full range of sporting activities as well as GCSE PE and A level Physical Education. Additionally they should be hardworking, well-organised and able to work as part of a team. A good level of ICT competence is important, although training will be available in this area if required. A full commitment to extracurricular teams and activities in both morning and after school clubs is expected.
The specific responsibilities will be determined according to the strengths of the successful candidate.

Local Area

Solihull is the home of designer-brand shopping, idyllic rural villages, fine dining, fabulous hotels and home to the National Exhibition Centre and Genting Arena, which hosts an array of spectacular live events.

Still quaint, the town is dotted with historic architecture including timber-framed Tudor houses and shops and nearly three-quarters of the borough is defined as Green Belt. Add to that Solihull is surrounded by picturesque countryside.

Birmingham Airport is just 10 minutes away and Birmingham International station and Solihull station both provide excellent transport links across the country.
