Examinations Officer

Start date: As soon as possible
Contract type: Full Time
Salary: Salary Range NJC Points 7-11: FTE Salary £19,554 – £21,166
Actual Salary: £17,817 – £19,285 per annum*
*Recruitment incentive available for an experienced candidate
Contract term: Permanent

For January 2020 (or earlier) we are looking to recruit an Examinations Officer. This is an interesting and varied role requiring outstanding organisational skills. You will be working closely with a senior member of the Leadership Team. The core purpose of this role is to administer all Academy examinations – both internal and external.

Teacher of Science

Start date: September 2020 (or earlier)
Contract type: Full Time
Salary: MPS/UPS
Contract term: Permanent
Suitable for NQTs: Yes

An outstanding teacher of Science is required for September 2020 (or earlier) to join a committed and hard-working department. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and NQTs and from any science specialism, although applications from chemistry specialists are particularly welcomed.
The successful candidate will benefit from:

  • Joining a department judged as outstanding in the school’s most recent OFSTED inspection (June 2014)
  • Joining a department with a tradition of excellent results
  • At GCSE Level in 2019 – in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics over 93% of students achieved a Level 4+ and over 48% achieved a Level 7+
  • At A Level in 2019 – in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics over 86% of students achieved a grade A* – E

Additionally, you will benefit from:

  • Teaching in a forward thinking department with excellent resources and facilities for teachers who love their subject
  • Teaching in their own lab – all science labs have been refurbished in the last two years
  • The opportunity to teach A Level (dependent on experience)

Sixth Form Cafe Supervisor

Start date: As soon as possible
Contract type: Part Time 35 hours per week – Term time only (39 weeks per year)
7.30am – 2.30pm Mon – Fri
Contract term: Permanent
Salary: NJC Scale 2/Point 3 FTE £18,065 – Actual Salary £14,811

We are looking for an experienced caterer to supervise our busy café. In particular we would love to hear from someone who is not only dynamic and flexible, but also has the innovation to bring new ideas to and take ownership of this very busy Café outlet in our Academy. Experience in education or retail catering would be an advantage.

Local Area

Solihull is the home of designer-brand shopping, idyllic rural villages, fine dining, fabulous hotels and home to the National Exhibition Centre and Genting Arena, which hosts an array of spectacular live events.

Still quaint, the town is dotted with historic architecture including timber-framed Tudor houses and shops and nearly three-quarters of the borough is defined as Green Belt. Add to that Solihull is surrounded by picturesque countryside.

Birmingham Airport is just 10 minutes away and Birmingham International station and Solihull station both provide excellent transport links across the country.
