Tudor Grange Students Celebrate Outstanding Grades at GCSE

Students at Tudor Grange Academy Solihull celebrated a set of outstanding GCSE results for 2023. Results nationally have returned to pre-pandemic levels with outcomes being more comparable to 2019. In this climate and with the undoubted disruption this cohort has faced, both students and staff were delighted with the results they achieved. 90% of students achieved a minimum grade 4 in both English and Maths with 70% achieving a minimum grade 5 in both subjects. 56% of this cohort also achieved a minimum grade 4 in each of the Ebacc subjects demonstrating an increase from 2019.

Principal, Claire Smith said, “We are delighted that this year group, who have faced such disruption during their secondary education, have achieved such success. Given the uncertainty and challenges that students have faced in recent years, it is testament to their dedication that they have managed to secure such excellent outcomes. We are proud of their achievements and the foundation these results will give them to pursue their next step.”

The school achieved consistently strong performance across the board with 31% of all grades awarded being at grade 7 or above and 85% being at grade 5 or above. Amongst the many individual success stories, Ayla achieved grade 9 in all 9 subjects – an outstanding achievement and richly deserved. Amelia, Evie and Jayan also achieved grade 8 or 9 in all their subjects, showing consistently high performance across all their subjects.

The results follow on from the school’s success at A-level last week. Mrs Smith said: “The success of the school, as shown in the results at both GCSE and A level, goes from strength to strength. However, we should always remember that behind this data, there are always personal stories of commitment and dedication, often in difficult circumstances. We are proud of each and every one of our students who have worked so hard, with the support of their families, to achieve this success. We are delighted that we can help them on their journey with results that open doors to their next chapter of their lives.”
