CS and IT ppt Curriculum Choices 2020

Please see below some information about the course covered during Key Stage 4. You will also find more information about the knowledge and skills covered booklet in a hyperlink below.  During each half-term your child will have regular ‘learning checks’ to assess how well they are progressing against the expected standards. If they do not reach the expected standard in any of these checks, they should be seeking help from their teacher regarding the best possible steps. Teachers will also be sharing with students examples of how to go ‘beyond the expected standards ‘and providing additional challenge.

ICT – Digital Media

Year 9

Students complete a foundational project which prepares them for the practical units in the digital media course (OCR Creative iMedia) by enabling them to develop their multimedia and graphic design skills using the Adobe Create Suite. Students explore different existing multimedia products, and learn how to use multimedia authoring software to design and create effective multimedia products for specified purposes and audiences.

Year 10

Students complete the three practical assignments on the course. Students demonstrate their ability to plan, design, build and test multimedia products through their work on a live assignment set by the exam board for each unit. These units involve multimedia, sound, graphic and video elements.

Year 11

Students complete their practical work ready for submission and then complete the theory unit in preparation for the summer examination. In this unit, students learn about the purpose and uses of a range of production techniques. They will be able to plan production of a creative digital media product to a client brief.
