The Year 7 and 8 Enrichment Programme
What is ‘Enrichment’?
Enrichment is a programme which has been designed exclusively for Years 7 and 8 to develop particular employability skills like leadership, problem solving and teamwork, whilst becoming more aware of the environment and our social responsibilities.
How is Enrichment taught?
The course is taught through open ended challenges which the students will be encouraged to approach in whichever way the students see fit. Most challenges will last for a 3 week period and in this time, students will need to plan, carry out and review an idea which addresses the challenge or develops a particular skill.
What will these challenges include?
There are a variety of challenges to encourage a range of different responses and experiences for the students. The challenges will revolve around:
- Remembrance Day
- Christmas Celebration
- First Aid
- Sign language
- Business solutions
- Summer Celebration
These challenges will allow them the opportunity to make links with local businesses, raise money for charities, learn new skills and celebrate key points in the academic calendar!
When will each Challenge happen?
Each student will have the time and opportunity to attempt each challenge over the academic year, however they will not all do them at the same time or in the same order. Each class will be given due notice when a new challenge is going to start so students are aware of the upcoming requirements.
