The CCF is a fantastic opportunity for Tudor Grange students to get involved in to develop their leadership and communication skills, build teamwork skills and give them an identity. The cadets follow similar regimes to the army, for example CDRILS which encompasses courage, discipline, respect for others, integrity, loyalty and selfless commitment. Cadets can move up the ranks within their contingent as well as open up opportunities to make links with their Duke of Edinburgh Award, gain qualifications including NVQs and adventure training.
“I enjoy leading others and the team building activities with my friends. I particularly enjoy the cam and concealment because we get to dress up and I like firing blanks”
Woody Pearce, Year 10 (Year Three cadet)
“The camp made me become more independent and resilient because I was nervous at first because I’d never camped before but I’ve made a lot of new friends by joining the CCF and it was the best fun I’ve had!”
Louise Clift, Year 9 (Year Two cadet)
The CCF runs after school every Wednesday 3.00 pm – 4.45 pm on Oak playground. Students can join from Year 8 so we hold a recruitment day for current Year 7 students in June and accept an application after this for the following academic year. We are always looking for Adult Volunteers so if you’re interested in coming along and helping out please email the office, FAO 2Lt Herbert.
