– CIAG Programme (Hitting Benchmarks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)

Students enter Year 13 with a further dedicated programme to the application process for university and apprenticeships. We offer comprehensive advice at every stage of the application with external visits from student ambassadors at Loughbrough; Oxford; Cambridge Universitywho present on all aspects of university life, from finance and budgeting, university interviews and the social scene, alongside alumni who have completed apprenticeships with BP; PWC and Grant Thornton to provide an insight into this pathway.

Students are given 1:1 support with their UCAS applications and links to industry if they are considering an apprenticeship. We offer bespoke workshops with university and apprenticeship professionals on business sectors that students are contemplating to help give them as much independent guidance as we can. We advise students to attend as many university open days during the summer and the beginning of the Autumn Term. Oxbridge students are given a dedicated co-ordinator and access to the Solihull school Network events to assist with their application process and entrance exams. Parents are invited to meetings on UCAS: Apprenticeships and student finance so they become part of the guidance process.

All support and CIAG to Year 13 is bespoke based on the needs of the student. Every student has access to a designated member of the Sixth Form Team who runs point on their destination journey. An Assistant Director of 6th Form has the dole of Destinations Co-Ordinator including all tracking and monitoring of Gatsby benchmark encounters.

Students are given mock interviews; panel preparation for medical applications; assessment centre preparation tasks and further practice opportunities to ensure that they are the best candidate on the day. Our target annually is for 0% NEET.
