Charles Darwin quote:
“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”
Charles Darwin was a British scientist who transformed the way we think about the world today by laying the foundations for the theory of evolution. The quotation from Darwin himself above clearly links to the role of education today. Education is at an exciting yet daunting time. New technology is being developed at a rapid pace and schools are being challenged to deliver a 21st century education for their pupils to enable them to be global citizens, responsible young adults and achieve academic excellence.
It is our aim in Darwin College to ‘make learning irresistible’. The ability to learn, and understand the learning process, is the most vital skill to all of our pupils. As technology develops, an effective learner needs to be able to adapt to change and develop new skills. This is why we strive to develop resourceful, reflective and resilient individuals who not only aim for exceptional academic performance but also make a worthwhile contribution to the community they live in both in school and in the local area.
