This week a group of year 8 and 9 students took part in the regional finals of the ‘Land Rover 4X4 in schools challenge’. The event was held at the Make UK Technology Hub which provided a great setting for this years’ competition. Team Cyro and Team F.E.V worked incredibly hard last term to design and make a ‘car of the future’. The day was great fun but also intense as we battled it out with other schools across the region. Each team presented their car, along with a design portfolio, to a team of judges to be scrutinised against strict regulations. If that wasn’t enough they braved a presentation and successfully negotiated a track full of obstacles against the clock!
The students are a credit to TGAS and both teams did incredibly well. The judges were very impressed and despite it being our first entry to the competition Team Cyro were awarded the ‘Future Stars Award’. Well done to all involved.
